Plant Schedule

Schedule on the SITE tab puts a plant schedule on the sheet. Click where its top-left corner goes, on clear paper outside the viewports. The table lists each plant the sheet's viewports show with its symbol, quantity, common name, botanical name and install size, and a note under it says what the quantities count.

It goes on a layer named Plant Schedule, in one undo step. The table sits on a solid white backdrop that hides whatever lies under it, as a CAD wipeout does. Its title is 0.16 in tall and every other line 0.1 in, measured at the capitals as a CAD text height is, so it matches CAD lettering of those heights on the plot.

What counts

A plant counts where the sheet shows it: a plan symbol that is visible, on a layer that is on, with its centre inside a viewport's outline (a clipped viewport's own outline, arcs and all). A tree seen through two viewports, such as an enlargement, counts once.

Nothing drawn on the sheet itself counts, so the copies in a CAD legend never do, and a block left off to the side outside every viewport never reaches the Studio at all. Hiding a layer takes its plants off the schedule.

The quantities are this sheet's. A set split by match lines needs a schedule on each sheet, and where viewports on two sheets overlap, their sum is more than the project's total.

How a plant is named

A symbol standing for a named plant (named in Plant Symbols, in a block rule's Plant column, or on the Properties panel's Plant row) is listed under that name, with the botanical name and install size from its record.

A plant you placed from the library in the Studio is listed under the library's name for it.

A symbol that came from a CAD block goes by the block's name ("NRS") until you name its plant, never by the name of the symbol it is drawn with, which may only look alike; one whose block left no name reads "Unnamed, drawn as" the symbol's name. Name those plants in Plant Symbols and the rows follow. Trees come first, then the other plants, each group in alphabetical order.

Keeping it current

The schedule counts again after every edit, undo and redo, and when the drawing opens; it rebuilds where it sits only when what it says has changed. Drag any piece to move it all. Explode keeps it as plain text and symbols that no longer count. Its swatches and lettering are the Studio's own, so Plant Symbols never reads the schedule as the drawing's legend.

Choosing the plants on it

Double-click the schedule to open the Plant Schedule window. It counts the sheet again and lists every plant the viewports show, with its swatch, quantity, name and where it comes from (a named plant with its install size, a plant placed from the library, a CAD block not yet named, or exploded CAD inserts Plant Symbols made symbols).

Untick a row to leave it off this schedule and click OK: the table is rebuilt where it sits without that row, in one undo step, and the row stays off at every recount. A plant that appears later is on the schedule until you untick it, so nothing new goes missing unseen; Include All ticks every row again. Each schedule keeps its own choice, so two sheets can list different plants. A row is kept by its plant: renaming a plant makes a new row, which is on the schedule.

Under the list the window says in full what the count found and what the sheet shows that the schedule leaves out: plants still drawn as CAD linework, which Plant Symbols turns into symbols, and blocks on the drawing's legend that stand for no plant.
